The study time duration is flexible for your group. It could be a few weeks or a few months based upon your time schedule. It means we offer corresponding study program for your individual to meet your personnel demand. This way could guarantee that everybody could benefit sufficiently. This is the pure English study program in China covering comprehensive TCM subjects for international students and western licensed doctors.

In a common condition, we always arrange two hours for theory introduction in the morning, two hours for clinical practice in the afternoon (even though actually most students studied here much longer everyday for free). Five days per week. Usually, 50% classes for acupuncture and tuina, 30% basic theories and diagnostics, 20% herbs and herbal treatment.

Why do international students and licensed western doctors like to attend our short term study program? 

The answer is that on the one hand, there is no any pure English study program in China covering the comprehensive TCM courses like basic theory, diagnostics, acupuncture, tuina, herbs, prescription, even though there are English study programs in China for the subject of manipulation of acupuncture, which might cause a partial understanding to TCM. On the other hand, after attending our short term study program, you will be offered a very accurate understanding to the basic knowledge of TCM. This experience will help you to continue and deepen the study of TCM very smoothly. For example, many TCM students in the USA and UK could not successfully complete the two or three years study program there, because they find TCM is very hard to understand and have to give up the study. The third, since in China the TCM degree study program (bachelor's degree) for the international students spend five years and is taught in Chinese language, this is a hard choice for most international TCM students.

So in general, the purpose of our short term training program is to offer you very good basic TCM knowledge and to improve your accurate and clear understanding to TCM knowledge.

The short term training classes are taught in pure English. The courses in our TCM hospital include acupuncture, moxibustion,  basic theory of TCM, diagnostics, materia medica, prescription, massage (Tui Na), Qigong, internal medicine, gynaecology, paediatrics, dermatology, dietary therapy, etc.

Distant Self-Study Program:

Many friends and students in the world are interested in Chinese medicine now, but unfortunately, their time schedules and or financial budgets have prevented them from coming here to learn TCM for a number of years. Therefore we encourage you to learn by yourself at home. Our English textbooks are A01 to A14 published by Shanghai TCM University Press. After a few months or years study from these excellent books, you can come to our hospital to attend the short term training program to improve both your theoretical and clinical knowledge. In the meantime, there are also more wonderful English TCM books for you here in our Chinese Medicine Bookstore.
